Description:

Basically CDBG focuses on key program topics such as: national objectives, eligible activities, program administration, financial management, performance measurement, and the Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting (DRGR) system. The course will include a combination of lecture and practical case-study exercises. In addition, the course will provide answers to common CDBG questions and highlight HUD interpretation of key Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 policy issues.

The course is three days long. It includes 2-1/2 days of Basically CDBG training, with the presentation customized for NSP2 grantees, plus a half day of DRGR and federalreporting.gov training. The trainers will be HUD program staff and DRGR administrators.

Who Should Attend

NSP2 Grantees: This training is appropriate for all NSP2 grantee staff especially those who are new to the CDBG program. The training is focused on the CDBG regulations with particular emphasis on how they relate to NSP2. NSP2 grantees are encouraged to attend their nearest training. NSP2 Registrants will be required to provide the name of their lead grantee and their NSP2 grant number in order to participate.

Others: While the trainings is geared towards NSP2 grantees HUD welcomes NSP1 and CDBG grantees who'd like a refresher on the basics of the CDBG program or want to take advantage of the new information on DRGR and Federal Reporting.
