(Word, 1.86 MB) Sample Single-Family Housing Rehabilitation Standard Template

Abstract

This tool is intended for grantees and nonprofits seeking a customizable template for creating a minimum performance standard for a rehabilitation program. It includes a series of sample standards to be used with one- to four-unit dwellings of three stories or fewer. It is intended as a guide to help grantees and their partners determine what specifications should be applied in what situations to produce uniformly safe, decent, durable, and high-performing homes. It includes details on green rehab, health and safety, site specifications, windows and doors, roofing, insulation and ventilation, interior standards, electric and plumbing, HVAC, and appliances.

It includes a number of green building items and corresponds to two other documents in the NSP Resource Exchange: the Sample Single-Family Rehabilitation Specifications and the Sample Housing Rehabilitation Checklist. This three-document set includes green building performance standards and specifications.
